Set sail into Tacoma’s maritime past at Foss Waterway Seaport, housed in a 126-year-old former wheat warehouse and located on the city’s working waterfront, with admission that’s alwaysfree. Visit Thursday through Sunday, 10am to 4pm, or stick around late every third Thursday until 8pm. Dip your hands into the touch tanks, learn about the people and things that helped shape Tacoma, and watch our volunteers restore wooden boats in the Heritage Boat Shop. Arriving by boat? No problem, tie up on our dock, the first 4-hours are on us. Blending hands-on exhibits with genuine maritime heritage, the Seaport shows how Tacoma’s “rails to sails” past still shapes life on Puget Sound today.
