Sep 3-26 Shifting Light features expressionistic works that reflect changing seasons alongside shifts in Seattle’s social, urban and environmental landscape. Together, the artists respond to a world in motion, offering perspectives on the enduring power of light. Opening reception: Sep 3, 5-9pm. Oct 1-31 Laura Hamje: Return to Romanticism. Inspired by her apprenticeship with Stanley Lewis, the show features landscapes painted outdoors on-site, spanning from Washington state to Italy. In her current practice, Hamje engages with the tradition of American landscape painting while simultaneously exploring memory. Opening reception: Oct 1, 5-9pm.
