Opening May 21 The Perfect Wife is a narrative project by Ukrainian-Canadian artist Valeriia Polishchuk that examines traditional heterosexual marriage through satire, exposing cultural expectations placed on women through the nostalgic language of mid-century editorials. As an artistic collaboration, the exhibition features photography, a short film, installation and performance art. Together, these elements create a narrative environment – a dysfunctional house – encouraging viewers to reflect on tradition, identity and gender expectations shaping women’s lives today. 20% of proceeds will be donated to Act 2, supporting women and children who have fled domestic violence. Opening event: May 21, 7pm.
