Apr 22-May 24 Archipelago – Contemporary Art of the Salish Sea. ArtSpring is proud to present its first international visual art exhibition, as part of a unique and important cultural exchange between two of North America’s most feted arts communities – the Southern Gulf Islands of British Columbia and the San Juan Islands of Washington State. Artspring will host and present six of the finest visual artists working in the San Juan Islands: Danielle Dean (photography); Glenn Hendrick (printmaking, painting); Joe Miller (oil painting, watercolour); RaVae Luckhart (oil painting, mixed media); Raven Skyriver (glass); Tom Small (stone, sculpture).
In turn, Salt Spring Arts will be presenting six of the finest visual artists working in the Southern Gulf Islands, who will then be shown starting in September in the San Juans. Archipelago is a collaboration with Salt Spring Arts (April 14-30 at Mahon Hall,) and the San Juan Islands Museum of Art (September 22-December 4.)
Curated by Richard Steel and Patrick McCallum of Salt Spring Island and Peter Lane of San Juan Islands.
