Terrain is one of August’s high points, as artists make artworks that respond to the land. This year’s iteration takes place inside a giant former warehouse, and the art relates to the history of the site. It was once an artificial lake with an island that hosted the 1905 Lewis and Clark Centennial Exposition. Organizers promise “dirt, branches, rocks, water, all kinds of natural materials.” Take your pick of themes, but ecology, feminism and climate change are some of those on display.
