Snapshots

Whyte Museum of the Canadian Rockies, Banff, AB - To Apr 4

by Robin Laurence

This show surveys photographs of mountain landscapes past and present and also displays equipment used by spotlighted historic photographers. Featured artists range from the locally admired to the internationally renowned and include Byron Harmon, the Vaux family, Tom Willock, George Webber and Edward Burtynsky. Curated from the museum’s permanent collection, Snapshots draws attention to the dual archival and creative signifi cance of photographs while alerting us to the evolving technologies that made these works possible. Presented as part of the 2021 Exposure Photography Festival.
