HONORS: OREGON – Ford Family Foundation’s Hallie Ford Fellows in the Visual Arts

In 2025, the three Oregon-based visual artists selected for the quality, evolution and impact of their work were Derek Franklin, Sara Siestreem (Hanis Coos) and Vo Vo. Franklin’s semi-abstract oil paintings and welded sculptures interrogate art historical and domestic subjects. Siestreem combines the ceremonial traditions of her ancestors with contemporary modes and materials at the intersection of social and ecological justice, education, and Indigenous feminism. Vo Vo’s embroidered hangings and other installations explore support strategies and models of community care within a post-traumatic social landscape. JG
