Pushing Boundaries: Handbuilding Larger Forms | VASS workshop w/ Cathy Toll

Join instructor Cathy Toll for a three-day intensive clay workshop at the Vernon Arts Summer School, designed for experienced handbuilders ready to scale up their practice. This class focuses on the technical and creative challenges of working larger in clay, with an emphasis on structure, stability, and intentional design.

Participants will explore slab construction techniques, including joining, support strategies, and working in sections to build larger, more complex forms. The workshop also introduces the use of plaster moulds, along with methods for managing moisture, timing, and structural balance when working at scale.
