Join Ferry Building Gallery exhibiting artist Haley Hunt-Brondwin for an introduction to tapestry weaving on a frame loom. This workshop will guide you through the entire process of creating your first woven wall hanging, from setting up the loom and learning key weaving techniques, to finishing and removing your piece.
Registrants can attend a follow-up drop-in session in the Ferry Building Gallery on Saturday, February 28 from 1 - 3 p.m. if they want further guidance and assistance finishing their piece. All supplies will be provided, including a hand made frame loom, comb, weaving sword, warp thread, wool, and a cotton tote bag – all yours to keep! You will also receive an instruction guide with tips, tricks and techniques to support your continued weaving journey.
While the workshop is geared towards adults, ages 12 and up are welcome if they are keen to learn about weaving, enjoy working with their hands and feel comfortable in an adult setting.
Costs include a small handmade loom, supplies, tools, instruction guide, and optional two-hour follow-up session.
Follow-up session: Saturday, February 28, 1–3 p.m., at the Ferry Building Gallery
