Indigo Blue: Resist and Shibori Dyeing | VASS Workshop w/ Arlene Westen

Explore the art of indigo dyeing in this immersive hands-on Fibre Art workshop with instructor Arlene Westen. Learn a variety of resist-dyeing techniques inspired by both contemporary tie-dye and traditional Japanese Shibori methods while creating beautifully patterned textiles rich in texture and colour.

Participants will experiment with folding, binding, stitching, and clamping techniques while learning the full indigo dyeing process, from fabric preparation to vat set-up and finishing methods. Leave with a collection of unique dyed fabrics and the skills to continue exploring this timeless textile art form.
