Welcome to your next adventure with Alberta Craft and Alberta Culture Days!
Join us on Saturday, September 23, as we explore the flexibility of recycled materials by creating a multi-functional wooden placemat that can be used for a sofa armrest. Using reclaimed pallet wood and fabric diverted from waste streams, resident wood nerd Tyler Sambo will guide you through the construction of a functionable piece of home décor which will long outlast its material's expected lifespan. Join in on the discussion of reclamation techniques and processes as you customize, stain and adhere your prepared wooden pieces to fabric sourced from Blenderz Garmentz Recyclers.
The project takes inspiration from Alberta Craft Gallery's two current furniture themed exhibitions; "Furniture" group exhibition, & "Proven Form - Modern Perspective" with Ralph Reichenbach.
Finished dimensions will be approximately 12"x17"
Minimum age is 12, minors must be accompanied by an adult
