Beyond the Basics: Advanced Gel Printing

Suited for those familiar with the fundamentals of gel plate printing and wish to learn more advanced techniques. Topics will include resist and transfer printing using a variety of methods, such as laser prints of drawings or photographs. Participants will also learn how to do charcoal drawing transfers, use of Pan Pastels, and reverse printing.

Finished prints may be used in collage for wall art or on a smaller scale for cards or journals. Students will need to bring a gel plate, paper, brayer, acrylic paints, and some high-quality laser prints (detailed list will be provided upon registration).

New to gel plate printing? We’re also offering a beginner-friendly introductory workshop covering the fundamentals of gel printing, including colour blending, textures, masks and stencils, and layered printing techniques.
