This Seattle trio (Noel Brass Jr, Andy Sells, and Carlos Tulloss) fuses jazz, funk, and psychedelia into something The Stranger describes as “subliminally psychedelic,” Seattle Weekly compares to “laser-jazz for a dystopian noir film,” and KEXP calls “deeply moving.”

At its core, Afrocop is about improvisation as connection. Themes of love, longing, and the unknown are explored and built live, never to be repeated the same way twice. Expect spectral grooves, soulful keys, and a room that shifts in real time with the music.

ABOUT AFROCOP
Seattle trio Afrocop performs improvised soundscapes of sci-fi, soul jazz, afrobeat, breakbeat, video game, and time stretching music. Chicago native Noel Brass Jr. (keys) formed the band as a means to express his psychedelic gospel leanings. Veteran Seattle players, Andy Sells and Carlos Tulloss, bring the beats and low end to the mix. Experimental composer Bill Horist is a frequent collaborator on guitar.
