Jun 18-Aug 8 Grand National: Textures of Canada brings together a diverse group of artists working exclusively in fine art textiles to explore Canada through texture as both material and metaphor. Through weaving, stitching, knotting and layered fibre practices, the exhibition considers how textiles can hold and communicate stories of place, identity and memory. From references to natural landscapes to the complexities of cultural and lived experience, these works challenge singular ideas of Canadian identity. Grand National invites viewers to consider not just how Canada looks, but how it feels, revealing the layered narratives embedded in cloth.
