Artisan Glass Fusion: Material Exploration and Process | VASS Workshop w/ Patricia Doyle

Join instructor Patricia Doyle for a dynamic three-day workshop at the Vernon Arts Summer School exploring the expressive potential of glass through heat, movement, and material experimentation. This hands-on class is designed for artists with prior experience who want to expand their technical and creative toolkit.

Participants will work with torches, frits, powders, metals, and mica to explore how glass transforms under heat, building layered surfaces and organic forms that shift with temperature and timing. The workshop also introduces kiln firing strategy, process sequencing, and optional techniques such as ring saw cutting and vitrigraph firing for unexpected material effects.
