Joy of Plein Air: Sketching and Painting | VASS Workshop w/ Jan Poynter

Join instructor Jan Poynter for a dynamic three-day plein air painting workshop at the Vernon Arts Summer School. Step outside the studio and into real-world environments as you explore how to capture light, colour, atmosphere, and movement directly on location.

Mornings will focus on on-site sketching and painting with guided demonstrations in composition, value, and colour. Afternoons return to the studio for discussion, technique development, and expanding your studies into more resolved works. You’ll build confidence working in changing outdoor conditions while developing a flexible, practical approach to painting on location.
