Character Sculpture in Clay: Proportion, Story, and Texture | VASS Workshop w/ Jana Norris

Join instructor Jana Norris for a dynamic five-day clay sculpture workshop at the Vernon Arts Summer School. This hands-on class explores how proportion, exaggeration, and texture can be used to build expressive, story-driven ceramic characters with personality and humour.

Participants will begin with foundational clay techniques and proportion studies before developing their own sculptural figures through sketching, modelling, and surface experimentation. Learn how gesture, form, and texture bring narrative depth to your work while building confidence with ceramic materials and studio practice.
