The Art of D.E. May

THE ART OF D.E. MAY, by Linda Tesner, was published by Oregon State University Press in conjunction with the Hallie Ford Museum of Art’s recent retrospective exhibition titled D.E. May: Postcards from Islandsalem. The catalog provides an overview of the artist’s mixed-media work, from drawings and constructions to templates and grids fashioned from recycled cardboard, maps, architectural plans and more. Born and raised in Salem, May, who passed away in 2019 at the age of 66, chose to remain in his hometown, despite achieving an enviable level of critical and commercial success.
