Dominic Benhura: A Graceful Balance

One of Zimbabwe’s most celebrated artists, Dominic Benhura began his carving apprenticeship under his cousin Tapfuma Gusta at the age of 10. Soon enough he would include new materials, such as steel wire, to enhance his stone sculptures, which range in size from 24 x 30 inches, like those in the current exhibition, to human scale, like those installed in public gardens around the world.
