Created over four summers on Newfoundland’s Fogo Island, Sharon Lockhart’s film WINDWARD and Fogo Island Portrait Studio photographs reflect her enduring interest in place, time and human connection. Through long, meditative takes and intimate portraits of the island’s youth, Lockhart captures the stark beauty, quiet rhythms and resilient spirit of this remote community.
