Outliers and Outlaws
Oregon Jewish Museum and Center for Holocaust Education, Portland, OR - Jun 8 – Oct 26
The Eugene Lesbian Oral History Project illustrates the fascinating history of the Willamette Valley college town as a welcoming place for lesbians from the 1960s to the millennium. Look out for the Baleboostehs, Jewish women who fought the anti-gay Ballot Measure 9 with a Freedom Seder in 1992. Objects, include photos, buttons and yard signs. Plus ça change? Coordinated by Judith Raiskin and Linda Long of the University of Oregon, the project includes a digital exhibition, digital archive and documentary film.
