Childhood's End Gallery, Olympia, WA - Jun 13 – Jul 27
A group exhibition celebrating the book arts, in all their forms—from the figurative to the literal, including the bound and the unbound, books unfolding from walls and those suspended from the ceiling. Artists MalPina Chan and Randi Parkhurst fashion sculptures out of paper, thread and ink, using standard bookmaking tools. Suze Woolf’s Poetry Sticks (2018) are inspired by the hieroglyphic “scribing” of the bark beetle and the changing forest. Also included are works by Susan Aurand, Lucia Harrison, Robin and Carmella Gumaelius, and Shu-Ju Wang.
