Oliver Beer: Compositions For Mouths, Face and Hands

Spanning two paired video works, Oliver Beer explores the acoustic resonance of the body through intimate exchanges between performers. In one, singers join lips to form a shared mouth cavity, blending childhood songs into haunting duets that reflect cultural memory and resonance. In the other, percussionists use each other’s faces to create rhythmic compositions, shifting between tenderness and intensity. Together, the works investigate how voices, gestures and physical contact become acts of communion—transmitting inherited traditions, personal histories and sonic vibrations through flesh, breath and intimate connection.
