HONORS: Washington - Seattle Art Museum’s Betty Bowen Award

The 2024 recipient of the Betty Bowen Award is Portland-based artist Samantha Yun Wall. Known for ink drawings on Dura-Lar that center her transcultural experience as a Black Korean immigrant, Wall has been exhibited throughout Washington and Oregon, most recently with her Boren Banner Series (2024) at the Frye Museum in Seattle and in Black Artists of Oregon (2023–24), a group show at the Portland Art Museum.
