Lac Seul First Nation (Anishinaabe) member Rebecca Belmore is the 2024 recipient of the Audain Prize for the Visual Arts. Based between Vancouver and Toronto, Belmore is a multidisciplinary artist recognized internationally for her performance art, photo-based work and site-specific sculptural installations. In 2005, Belmore represented Canada in the 51st Venice Biennale. Significant exhibitions included Documenta 14 (2017), the Istanbul Biennial (2019) and the Whitney Biennial (2022).
