George Littlechild, a First Nations Canadian illustrator and author, is a brilliant painter of lively, high chroma key imagery. He is recognized as one of the foremost First Nations artists working in Canada today and has contributed a significant body of work to Canada’s cultural heritage in general.

As an author and artist, Littlechild’s subject matter focuses on the history and legends of North American Indians as well as his own experiences growing up Cree Indian in Canada. Apisasisin, meaning “little things” in the Cree language, is his first group of small paintings. Like his larger works, they have a powerful colour palette and engaging sense of magic.
