Join Sarah Milroy at the Audain Art Museum for an afternoon tour of 'Gathie Falk: Revelations', which is curated by her, and organized and circulated by the McMichael Canadian Art Collection.
The current 2022-24 touring exhibition, with over 90 works and only two venues in Western Canada including the Audain Art Museum, underlines the incredible range of Gathie Falk's creative output in ceramic and bronze sculpture, acrylic and oil on canvas painting, photography and video, as well as multi-media installation.
Now in her nineties, Falk was born in 1928 of Russian Mennonite heritage in Brandon, Manitoba. She settled in Vancouver, where she established herself as one of the country’s most visionary and experimental artists. Her work has been widely collected and is featured in the holdings of the Audain Art Museum, Art Gallery of Ontario, National Gallery of Canada, Winnipeg Art Gallery, Dupont Canada Inc., London Life and the Workman’s Compensation Board. Falk has been the recipient of numerous visual arts honours, including the Audain Prize, Order of Canada, Governor General’s Award, and the Gershon Iskowitz Prize.
