Artist Talk by June Yun

Atmospheric - Using visual haze, softness, and blank space is like literary metaphors and synaesthesia to express the artist's emotions and thoughts; like the Mystery Poetry that emerged in China in the last century, it pays more attention to the expression of the artist's individual inner emotions, and the works also give readers and audiences greater room for imagination. Whether it is figurative or abstract, the taste and artistic conception of artistic creation are the realm pursued by June Yun. Mixed media artist June Yun’s recent paintings straddle the line between abstraction and representation. They not only capture the realistic side of the ambiance of the four seasons of Vancouver, but also projects ancient literati’s tastes in dreamy settings that she has created.

June Yun will give a talk on Tuesday July 25th 2023 6-7pm to the general public at Lipont Gallery, 4211 No. 3 Road, Richmond BC.

June Yun is among the eight artists participating in Lipont Gallery's 2023 Summer Group Exhibition that showcases paintings, drawings, editions, and sculpture by local and international artists Fahri Aldin, Paul Chizik, Xizhong He, Alison Keenan, Angela Muellers, Liza Visagie, Guo Yan, and June Yun.

The exhibition will be on view at Lipont Gallery, 4211 No. 3 Road, Richmond B.C., from July 8th to August 4th. The gallery opens Monday through Friday 10:00am to 5:00pm, with extended hours to 8:00pm on Tuesdays. The gallery closes on weekends and B.C. statutory holidays.
