Posen, based in Toronto, utilizes the approaches of classic BW photography to engage landscape and architectural subjects. His work spans more than four decades during which time he has created a number of series based on the uniqueness of place. His studies in architecture at Taliesin, the Frank Lloyd Wright School, and stage design contribute to the unique perspective. For this exhibition he will be presenting work from a number of series on the Canadian Landscape, in which details of water, ice, plants and rocks, while devoid of human presence, contain in their formal abstraction the living dynamics of natural systems, and suggest the forces and systems that have created our diverse environment.
