Opening Reception: Master Artist Lillian Pitt
Raven Makes Gallery in Sisters, Oregon welcomes Lillian Pitt June 22-24; artist opening Friday evening during Hood Avenue’s Art Stroll.
Lillian Pitt creates expressive works in various media that delight today’s collectors of Native American art, and at the same time, honor the history and legends of her Indigenous Pacific Northwest people. Primarily a sculptor and mixed media artist, Lillian’s lifetime of works include expressions in clay, bronze, wearable art, prints and most recently glass. Her works in each of these media have been exhibited and reviewed nationally and internationally. Regardless of the medium she chooses to use, Lillian’s focus is clearly on the giving voice to her River People and their way of life and reflect a deep respect for the environment and animals of our special region. Her works are regularly exhibited throughout the Pacific Northwest, as well as nationally and internationally. She actively supports a broad range of efforts aimed at advancing Native American cultural awareness and education.
