The Art of Hide Tanning

Opening Reception

The Art of Hide Tanning features new works by artists Amy Malbeuf and Ruby Sweetman (St Lina and Lac la Biche, AB) created through the traditional thirteen-step Woodland Cree hide tanning process. Join the Alberta Craft Council for the public opening of this exhibition and learn about Alberta’s oldest art forms; integral to the history and culture of the Indigenous people of this province.

This exhibition is organized by Portage College, a unique educator in Canada of this skill, and it is funded by the Alberta Foundation for the Arts as part of its 25th Anniversary Commemorative Art Projects.

Artists will be in attendance.

Free and Open to the Public.
