In this exhibition, Jim Breukelman: Altered States, the artist revisits a series of photographs from 1966, Sanson’s Diner, which is installed with more recent series of photographs of a taxidermy shop (After Life), a biosphere (Mesocosm) and altered landscapes (Planted Life).  In 1967, Breukelman founded the fine art photography program at Emily Carr University of Art + Design, one of the first multi-disciplinary programs in Canada. Through his practice and teaching, Breukelman influenced the development of photographic art and artists in Vancouver.  This exhibition is part of the Capture Photography Festival.
